Fv046 - Dark Soul Project & Santiago Garcia EP

Following on from the last release by Simon Vuarambon, Flow Vinyl once again head to Argentina for their next offering. This time it’s a collaboration between Ivan Jaime, otherwise known as Dark Soul Project, and Santiago Garcia, both young producers from Buenos Aires. The pair have joined forces for their debut release on Flow Vinyl, and ‘Loco’ is certain to bring them to a wider audience with its original interpretation of the progressive house template.

‘Loco’ starts with a subtle groove that uses swirling synths, strange effects and robotic voices to create a track full of contrasting light and shade. Simple but incredibly effective, it takes hold of the listener and locks them in. ‘Loco’ is best heard with the lights down low.

For the first remix, Deepfunk is at the controls. Deepfunk is Malcolm Abdilla from Malta and no stranger to Flow Vinyl having remixed Guy Mantzur’s ‘Amorphous Love’ in 2011. His version of ‘Loco’ is an action-packed reworking loaded with extra percussion and uplifting energy. The second remix comes from Flow Vinyl founder Pena who creates a deliciously funk-fuelled groove, but still with the same freaky edge.

A second original track, ‘Suck My Mandarine’, completes the story with another trippy adventure.
