FLR1323EP - Vazik_It Aint Easy

Victor Ezcurdia, otherwise known as Vazik, is one of the most respected names on the Mexican electronic music scene. With a DJ career spanning 15 years and an impressive production portfolio, mainly for his own Sounds of Earth label, you have an artist destined for Flow Records. It should come as no surprise, therefore, that his debut release for the label, the ‘It Ain’t Easy’ EP, is a very classy affair.

‘It Ain’t Easy’ is a driving but funky vocal track that is beautiful in its simplicity. Every element fits perfectly in place to create an enchanting mood which works as well as on the dancefloor as it does for home listening. Confident but also delicate and subtle, it’s sure to win support across a wide spectrum, particularly with the accompanying remixes.

Ben Coda from Shifty Disko in London is first up, and it’s easy to see why he’s fast becoming one of the hottest new talents from the UK. His electro-tinged tech house version is first rate, and takes the track in a whole new direction while still retaining the vocals and song structure of the original. For the second remix, it’s the turn of Switzerland and Khainz, a prolific producer who strips the track back to its essential percussion before adding a killer bassline.

A second original track, ‘Slush’, is also included, and once again Vazik has created a powerful groove enhanced with seductive vocal and synth effects.
